Courtesy of my over a year long tenure of my Unlimited Card. That is about £180 just given to Cineworld. I am now a holder of the Black Unlimited card – the standard one being red. Now thankfully I can view 3D Films at no extra cost. So before I start totaling up if this transaction is actually worth while…. I thought I’d get onto something I have been thinking about for a while.
TOP 5 Films of 2012 (Post Published 26th)
Daniel Craig. Bond. Casino Royale was one of the better films I have seen during the last decade. No where near the best, but its focus on more realism and less on imagination was great. Much inspired by Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy. However, the second time Craig wore the Tux, sadly didn’t match up. The film felt too rushed and there is still a sense that the story line is still to be picked up. So 2012. Eagerly waiting something quite amazing…..SkyFall. Somebody please tell me one bad thing about this film?! No didn’t think so. Upon hearing that M was a possibility to be killed off earlier in the year I was annoyed, I really did think that she had the job for life. So sitting in the showing for the first time I just wanted to know whether it did her justice. And for me this film wasn’t about Craig, Bardem. No it was all about Dench.
Tom Hardy with his performance in this is utterly amazing, over the years seeing him in various roles makes him the complete actor. Much like his take on Bane was amazing so is this. Portraying a family keen on making money whatever the costs and whatever the government try to throw at them. Each one of the actors and actresses who appear in the film do a brilliant job. I’m writing less as these films justify themselves.
3. Dark Night Rises
I’ve been harping on about this film all year….. Seriously. My feeling is this is the film that Avengers should have been. Regardless of some of the unexplained plot lines and whether Christopher Nolan’s trilogy has done any justice to the story. This film deserved top spot.
It had everything. Tom Hardy as Bane stole the show. Anne Hathaway had me melted to my seat each of the 3 times I watched this. And the final few scenes left me wandering.
Would be quite nice to see Christian Bale return for Justice League. But those chances look slim.
4. End of Watch
Now seems to have been released ages ago. But strangely enough I’ve only just seen this. And this film is true Bromance. I swear!
2 NYPD cops and their daily lives. Can’t be that interesting right?! Well yeah it is. Following a series of “Busts” these 2 best friends find theirselves on the wanted list of a top crime Cartel. Trust me the action kicks off right from the opening scene. Right down to the final close. Simply put the film has violence, action and banter. Some of the scenes with the two guys in the car are purely comical. Especially the scene after the credits.
5. Project X
One of the better films of the first half of the year. An Unpopular, geeky teen with his 2 best friends attempts to get laid by having a standard house party. Simple! Right? Surely this would be the ideal situation to show the ladies how cool you actually are correct? And how your philosophy of studying hard means you’ll get a better job correct. NA. This isn’t that kind of film. It is basically Hardcore. Everything these 3 lads do believe me is amazing. Had me thinking maybe I should try it for a while during the film – Until the neighborhood got set alight.
The great thing is that hardly all the actors/actresses are big names, no ones ever been heard of. Even the Producer!
Put simply this film HAS to be in your DVD collection. If not, you simply have to have experienced a party like this.
