V FESTIVAL 2011
REVIEW, THOUGHTS etc. To come !
VFestival was amazing. I saw countless numbers of acts which all deserved more the and 30mins that they were allocated. On the Saturday I took the time to see D12, Ellie Goulding, The Script, Rihanna and Eminem XD. You’d think that the last 2 would have been the best performers by far…… Not the case, The Script are awesome live and got the crowd well involved going through some of their more popular tracks before Rihanna came on stage and wow’d the crowd with some sexy dancing and putting her hand down her pants. Playing hits like What’s My Name, S+M, Man Down and a great performance of Unfaithful. Before an encore of her previous Number 1 Umbrella – convenient that it started with a light rain spell just at that moment.
Eminem! After battling with some other 60,000 that watched him to get a decent spot within 10metres he came out to Won’t Back Down followed by old favourites Square Dance, Till I collapse, and a few from his previous albums before inviting D12 on the stage from their earlier performance to do their more well known songs Fight Music, Purple Pills and then Royce Da 5’9 came on to perform 2 singles from the collectives Bad Meets Evil album. After this quick fire burst of songs Em’ increased the pace with his verses from Drake’s Forever, and B.o.B’s Airplanes. All this and Eminem performed a few of his newer songs aswell as the first verse of I Need a Doctor. Before dedicating Love the Way you Lie to the Ladies. After I joked with me friend it was Puke 😉
He then left the stage for a brief moment after a host of old classics like Sing for the Moment and Stan. Returning for the encore of Lose Yourself! His performance was truly breathtaking.
Sunday, after 2nights of camping probably smelling like a wet fish but the same as everyone else so no one minded as long as you had the scent of deodorant the morning brought about Wretch 32 who I’m my eyes was the best of the day and had he have had another few songs out he should have been moved to a bigger stage. Singing hits like his new no’1 Don’t Go, and his previous hits Traktor along with others from his new album.
Next was Labrinyth, Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, Wiz Khalifa, Professor Green, Example , and Dizzee Rascal. Chipmunk and Tinie were by far the disappointments of the weekend Chip never got the crowd going and continues to drop old novelty songs which I hate. Wiz Khalifa however, almost stole the show from Wretch. Playing unknown hits followed by Black and Yellow, Roll Up. Dizzee Rascal as usual was Bonkers and had the whole crowd dancing away.
